When Swiss WorldCargo told us they’d bring their latest Boeing 777-300ER to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, we knew right away how much planning it would take to capture the right moment at the right angle of the landing. There are basically two main runways at the airport and we would not know until 30 minutes before landing which runway the 777 would be landing. Separate teams had to be positioned on each runway while a mobile team would standby on an AOT (Airports Authority of Thailand) vehicle to mobilize as soon as we had confirmation from the tower which runway the plane would be landing. As with airports, security was extra tight, permissions were very detailed and needless to say there was a lot of paperwork involved. But good planning and good preparation would most likely yield great results.
